About Me

Photo of a Robin in the SnowHaving been interested in wildlife from a very young age, I got my first proper SLR camera back in 1991 (a Canon EOS 1000fn for those interested). My main aim was to capture the landscapes and local wildlife as I travelled around the UK.

My early shots were almost exclusively on 'print' film but after a while I began to realise that my work would look better if I switched to using 'slide' film.

I made the big switch to Digital in 2008 when I upgraded to a Canon EOS 40D and whilst it's been a little stretching at times, it's brought enormous benefits and I can now spend more time taking photographs and less time working through and cataloging the piles of slides I would have accumulated at the end of a busy trip.

More recently I've trade-in my 40D for a Canon EOS 7D and have found the increased ISO range and faster auto focus of great benefit.

I almost exclusively use Canon kit and all my printed work is carried out by a local Pro Lab.
